History
The planned village of Newcastleton locally titled Copshaw Holm, founded by Henry Scott the 3rd Duke of Buccleuch in 1793 as a centre of development for handloom weaving.

Earlier times the Scottish Borders village was referred to Border Reiver Country known then as "The Debated Land". Steeped in history with a heritage centre and other attractions, if your into outdoor adventures there are many activities to explore and great cycle route's such as the 7Stanes Mountain biking Trails.

You have easy access to Kielder forest with its cycling route and Kielder water, Europe's largest man made lake boasting a range of sport & adventure activities - more info. For leisure and recreation there is the 9 hole golf course and excellent forest walks, guest houses a caravan & camping site and a choice of hotels.
